I got my first taste of programming when I was in high school. I fondly remember searching through many web pages to find the right HTML code to try on my xanga, a blogging website. I really enjoyed the process of learning something new and being able to test it and see the results instantly-- I espeically enjoyed the methodical thinking it took to apply something to an existing set of data.
As a result of my interest in problem solving, I went to receive my undergraduate in Mathematics. Afterwards, I applied my problem solving prowess to teaching ESL in Japan for four years. When my contract was up, I moved to NY and I realized I missed that drive to methodically problem solve, so I began working at a computer software company out on Long Island. A year passed and I knew programming wasn't going away, so I quit my job and attended App Academy in 2016 to bolster my programming skill set -- specifically learning and understanding Ruby, JavaScript, and the React/FLUX architecture to name a few! Please see below for the projects I have worked on and more of the languages I have learned.
